Personal favourite short walks of the area include parking Market Drayton canal walk and Ironbridge River walk

Market Drayton canal walk - from the town centre follow the signs to the Shropshire Union Canal on the Eastern edge of town, South(Stafford St, and Newcastle Road), join the towpath at Talbot Wharf and head South in about 2 miles you will reach Tyrley Locks, a flight of 5 locks with a small picnic area - retrace route or at the road bridge turn right and follow the road uphill for half a mile to the Four Alls Pub, then take the main road back down hill to town

Ironbridge River walk - from car parks in Coalport (near Shakespear Inn, Tunnel Tearooms, Coalport China Museum / Youth Hostel / Cafe - take the footbridge over the river and turn right, follow the track past the cottages to the Maws Craft Centre continue on the track past the Half Moon Pub and then take the footpath / track which continues to follow the river. This will bring you to the Jackfield Tile Museum, follow the road to the junction, continue along the road (right) in a short distance you will meet the Severn Way (old railway track) take this heading up-river to the Iron Bridge - cross the bridge, enjoy the town then take the road following the river back towards Coalport, do not cross the roadbridge but follow the road staying on this side untill you reach Coalport total of about 3.5 miles - see route map
