Cambridgeshire is situated in a central position of the Eastern England region, a generally rural county, famous for its University (founded in 1209) and the Cambridgeshire Fens. The major urban centres are Peterborough, and Cambridge. The city of Cambridge being a favourite for tourists, with its fine architecture and cultural heritage, but visitors are also drawn to the county for its, history, nature and countryside activities, the flat fenland makes for easy walking and cycling.
