Northamptonshire is a county of the central East Midlands, the county town and administrative centre is Northampton. The Grand Prix circuit at Silverstone near Towcester is probably one of the best known Northampton attractions and yet although this county may not be on the general tourist itinerary for most it does have a lot to offer from quiet picturesque villages to motor sport and historic houses. The principal towns are Northampton, Kettering, Corby, Wellingborough, Towcester and Daventry
